What are we allowed to buy new?

What are we going to buy new? Food (obviously). Medicine and medical care, which for us frankly has always meant upping the vitamin c dosage and steamy baths and rest. It works. So, I still will get to buy lavender oil, tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil and clove oil for soaks in the tub. We can buy cleaning supplies, which these days involves a lot of vinegar, baking soda and dish soap.

We are allowed to get things to live that are consumables. What we can not get are "thing" things. We never have bought a lot, but this year we will only buy used. Not "on sale". That's not our experiment. That would certainly save us money, but it wouldn't remove things from the garbage stream. We're all about cleaning it up, baby.

Speaking of garbage stream, did you know that there is a garbage gyre in the Pacific Ocean that is huge?! Here in Very-Republican-Town, Illinois, we probably don't directly contribute to that a whole lot, but we do add to landfills in our area unless we remove stuff from the garbage stream.

So far, we've not purchased anything. That's OK too. When we do end up purchasing, it will have to be used, that's all there is to it.
