Above, we see my daughter drawing a picture of a cat for her calendar. Below, we see my son doing an Anime drawing for his calendar.
The kids are loving doing this. Do they feel deprived about not purchasing calendars? No. Do they feel proud about making their own? Yes. Would we make them do this if they didn't want to? No. Have they already gained something from our little don't-buy-anything experiment? Yes.Hurray!
