My husband uploaded an animation program this morning and my son has been playing around with it. He's quite proud and wanted me to show the world what he created. I'd like to remind the world of my discovery about violent themed play (and therefore by inference, violent animations...)--he's pretending!
In the first one, you'll see an epic story, one that has oft been told through the ages. Man vs. Nature--who will win? The second one is a more subtle story with a human scale. A story of triumph, and then defeat. There are no Disney endings here. No, not at all. These have more of a European feel to them--life is hard sometimes and grim like a Swedish film.
Enjoy, and let the disquiet work on you--don't be afraid of the feelings evoked by these two films--embrace it. Powerful feelings are good, even those of the most disturbing nature.

Charlie says: I think your animation is funny!
Lili: I like the punching bag!
Love the "Oof!"
My kids and I all enjoyed these.
O says -- "It's great! What's more to be said?"
i give them five stars.
what animation program did he use?
Excellent! I'm curious about what he used as well.
We have Flip Boom on trial. It's a very straightforward system, except that you have to animate it backwards...so the "oof" that the boxer says is actually the first cell my son drew and then he carried on from there.
I can't think like that, but he can...
