Go vote! Go. Now. Go on. Don't wait--make sure you get your vote in and counted. Lines will probably be long. People are stirred up and awake from their complacent slumber.
People have slept and slept and slept and then all of a sudden we were in Iraq with no end in sight and spending $12 billion a month to Halliburton and other corporate buddies of Bush to wage war against an impoverished country that had nothing to do with 911 or Osama Bin Laden. Thousands of American soldiers have died and 10 times that of innocent Iraqi civilians.
Wake up!!
And now, people are awake and are not feeling too good about where this country has been and where it has been directed. The economy, the environment, the constitution, our relationship with the world has all been shredded by Bush and will continue to be damaged by McCain/Palin.
Vote for Obama. Vote for change. Vote for a return to decency and a recognition of our shared problems and needs. This country is in trouble and we all need to work to do our part to fix it. But, you can't address problems that you refuse to recognize.
Shouldn't we be vigorously searching for alternative sources of energy? "Drill, baby drill?" No. Not true and not nearly enough by far.
Shouldn't we make sure people can get cared for when they're sick and ideally get preventative care before they get sick? Why are people not getting basic care in one of the richest countries in the world? It is unconscionable.
Vote for Obama. Vote to tell the world that we are smart enough to listen to reasonable language and arguments and can see through and beyond pandering and smears and misdirection and straw man arguments and ad hominem attacks. Yes we can.
Yes we will.
